Sparrows

Our children turn to lovely sparrows one by one. They leave but we can hear them in the hedgerow, singing and squabbling all through the neighbourhood they outgrew so fast. We put seed out on the bird-table hoping they are well. Catch our breath when we spot them chasing each other reckless and free through moving traffic, completely oblivious to the green light.
