Andromeda

I spy with my little eye
a tall tower on Winter Hill.
On the top floor
there is a solitary cell
with a round window.

I spy with my little eye
through its glowing O
like a remote viewer
with a silk scarf
covering their eyes.

A girl in white
dancing around
a birthday candle’s
living tongue of flame,
throws writhing shadows

that scale the walls
as it spits and gutters.
I spy with my little eye
a host of sentient suns
and a circle made of salt.
The image is Andromeda's 500 million stars taken by the Hubble Space Telescope
